Phase Biolabs was founded in 2020 with a mission that is as simple as it is ambitious: to upcycle 1 gigaton of CO2 by the year 2050. Born out of the Synthetic Biology Research Centre at the University of Nottingham, we have evolved from a breakthrough scientific concept into a leading industrial carbon-utilization platform.

Backed by Y Combinator and Bill Gates’ Breakthrough Energy, we leverage proprietary synthetic biology to transform one of the world’s biggest liabilities, industrial emissions, into one of its most valuable assets.
