Our story
Phase Biolabs was founded in 2020 with a mission that is as simple as it is ambitious: to upcycle 1 gigaton of CO2 by the year 2050. Born out of the Synthetic Biology Research Centre at the University of Nottingham, we have evolved from a breakthrough scientific concept into a leading industrial carbon-utilization platform.
Backed by Y Combinator and Bill Gates’ Breakthrough Energy, we leverage proprietary synthetic biology to transform one of the world’s biggest liabilities, industrial emissions, into one of its most valuable assets. By engineering microbes to outperform nature, we are not just capturing carbon; we are building the circular economy of the future, one retrofit at a time.
Why us
Our technology is built on years of research and development, offering a unique solution to the challenges of CO2 conversion. We differentiate ourselves with our ability to use CO2 directly, lower operational costs, and streamline your processes.
No need for complicated pre-processing steps.
Lower operational costs compared to traditional methods.
We’ve helped companies in various industries optimize their CO2 emissions and increase profitability.
